The 12th Intake of the
Army Apprentices School
The 12th Intake of Army Apprentices entered the Army Apprentices School,
at Balcombe, on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria in January 1957.
The 12th Intake graduated on the 12th day of the 12th month
(12th December 1959) and are thus the "12th Men"
Depending on Trade, Graduating Apprentices were posted to the Army Corps of:
Royal Australian Engineers Royal Australian Signals;
Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps
Royal Australian Army Service Corps Royal Australian Infantry
